La Banda GrandeMúsica Argentina para Big Bandguested up to now in Germany / Holland / France / Italy / Switzerland / USA / Japan
This Música Argentina para Big Band is based on the traditional wind ensemble music of the South American Indian. It tells of the folkloric handicraft of the former Argentinian Indians and traces the musical course of its history. The Spanish thrown issued a decree around 1780 putting an end to the diversity in the South American language and replacing it with Spanish. In spite of this, some areas, notably in the Córdoba (Argentina) region, have retained the intonation of the former Indian language of the “Comechingones”, and it is still evident in the Spanish spoken in this region today. The present-day culture still comprises remnants of the previously widespread Quechua language. The piece “Achalay!”– in the Quechua language - “How lovely!” picks up on this.
